HOLIDAY CHEER 2026

Holiday Cheer Logo - Presented by United Way of Cumberland County

This holiday season, we are so excited to introduce our very first Holiday Cheer event, a special day created to bring warmth, joy, companionship, and a little extra holiday magic to the seniors in our community.

On Friday, December 11, our United Way staff and volunteers will visit six local nursing and senior care facilities throughout Fayetteville. We will spend time with residents, read stories, sing carols, deliver thoughtful gifts and handmade cards, and most importantly, give our time and presence to those who deserve to feel remembered, appreciated, and loved this holiday season. We are truly grateful and excited to begin what we hope will become a beautiful holiday tradition in our community.

How Can You Help?
There are many ways you can be part of United Way Holiday Cheer. Whether you volunteer your time, donate an item, create a card, or make a financial contribution, every act of kindness helps us make December 11 a little more special.

Create a Christmas Card
Another heartfelt way to participate is by creating a handmade Christmas card for one of our seniors.

We encourage you to fill your card with a sweet, warm, and meaningful holiday message. A few words of encouragement, kindness, or holiday wishes can mean more than we sometimes realize.

Volunteer With Us
We are also looking for community volunteers to join us on December 11.

Our volunteers will help us visit our five facilities, participate in book readings and Christmas caroling, distribute cards and donations, and most importantly, spend meaningful time with our seniors.

This is a beautiful opportunity for individuals, families, businesses, organizations, churches, schools, and community groups to come together, give their time, and share the true spirit of the holiday season.
