To tackle literacy challenges from an early age, the Literacy Council is launching its first initiative—Imagination Library Story-Time. This weekly program, in partnership with Cumberland County and Fort Bragg Libraries, which began in March 2025 and aims to provide families with young children engaging opportunities to develop a love of books and reading.
Program Details:
- Who: Open to children ages 0-5
- When: Every Saturday (Rotating Locations)
- Duration: 30 minutes
- Cost: Completely FREE
- No Registration Required: Just come, enjoy, and make memories!
Our goal is to create a lifelong passion for reading, allowing children to grow into strong readers and, in turn, strong students. Together with the Cumberland County Literacy Council, we are creating a foundation for a brighter future for our community.
What to Expect at Story-Time:
- Storytelling with Flannel Board & Felt Activities: We bring books to life with visual aids that help children connect with the story.
- Music, Finger Play, and Movement: Interactive songs and motions that engage both the body and mind, boosting language development.
- A FREE Book for Every Child: At the end of each session, every child receives a free book to take home, growing their personal library and encouraging further reading.
- Opportunities for Socialization: The program also offers a chance for children to interact with their peers, developing social skills in a fun, supportive environment.
