To support early childhood literacy and celebrate the diversity of our community, the Cumberland County Literacy Council is launching its newest initiative, Imagination Library Bilingual Storytime. Beginning in August 2025, this monthly program offers families with young children engaging opportunities to build a love of books and reading through culturally inclusive experiences. Each story is read in English and then in Spanish, creating a welcoming and enriching environment for all.

Program Details:

• Who: Open to children ages 0-5
• When: Second Saturday of each month at 10 a.m.
• Where: Rotating between Spring Lake and Hope Mills Public Libraries
• Duration: 1 hour 
• Cost: Completely FREE
• No Registration Required: Just come, enjoy, and make memories!

Our goal is to create a lifelong passion for reading while supporting early language development and celebrating the rich cultural and linguistic diversity of our community. These events are open to everyone and are designed to promote inclusion, learning, and connection.

What to Expect at Storytime:

• Bilingual Storytelling: One story is read in English, then repeated in Spanish, helping children engage with multiple languages and cultures.

• Music, Finger Play, and Movement: Interactive songs and activities that support early learning and keep children engaged.

• A FREE Book for Every Child: Each child receives a free book to take home, growing their personal library and encouraging continued reading.

• Opportunities for Socialization: Children can play and interact with their peers in a welcoming, supportive space.

Together with families across the county, the Cumberland County Literacy Council is building a more inclusive and literate future, one story at a time.
