Our Mission:To measurably improve the quality of people's lives in Cumberland CountyUnited Way of Cumberland County is a volunteer driven organization. United Way staff is divided into the following departments:
Community Impact Department
The United Way of Cumberland County is a community impact organization. We study community needs and partner with agencies that impact these needs. The Community Impact/Allocations Council and Community Impact Review Panelists have the responsibility of reviewing United Way of Cumberland County partner agency programs and make investment decisions that have measurable results to change lives and improve our community.
Review Panelists examine 80 programs that are funded through the Community Care Fund. Each Community Impact Area has a separate accreditation/certification committee. The committee ensures that all agencies meet accountability standards of United Way membership. The Community Impact Council create community investment plans that will guide how money is spent to fund programs to achieve specific community outcomes.
The Finance and Administration DepartmentThe Finance and Administration Department has the overall responsibility for the maintenance of financial records. This includes organizational assets and investments, monitoring and reporting of financial position, building management and maintenance. It also conducts human resource activities. The department also provides staff support to the Finance Committee and the United Way of Cumberland County Board of Directors.
The Resource Development DepartmentThe Resource Development Department's primary responsibility is for cultivating fundraising efforts for the organization. This department runs the annual campaign and cultivates new resources and opportunities to raise funds to support health and human services in the community. The department works with community volunteers and local companies to raise awareness about the needs in our community. Through the United Way of Cumberland County Community Care Fund, donations are directed to meet the most critical needs in our local community.
The Marketing and Communications DepartmentThe Marketing and Communications Department develops all materials used by United Way of Cumberland County departments including brochures, videos, public service announcements, newsletters, media support materials, and Web site content. Thanks to sponsorships from media, printing companies, and a research firm, the Marketing Department is able to help create visibility and share the good work the organization and its member agencies do to help our community. |
